Help[Opinions] Evarista and Electra
I just took a nap and dreamed that I, or someone, had a baby named Evarista. I am thinkin about character-naming it.
Also Electra has started appealing to me a lot. My top combo is Charlotte Electra, but I also like Clara Electra and (maybe) Electra Irene. Any non-boring opinions and/or combos?

Sounds like a pair of crime-fighting twin superheroes. Electra could be the promiscuous high-tech one and Evarista would be the nature-loving fairy one.

I really like Evarista and Electra. I worked with a kid named Evaristo for a while and I thought his name was fantastic, so naturally my love for it extends to Evarista. I too prefer Elektra to Electra, but I like both. I like Electra Irene the best.

Evarista is very epic and bold and fantastical and supreme. I like it quite a lot. For some reason it reminds me of stars in the night sky?
Electra is great, but I prefer Elektra. I prefer the pointy K. I'm not at all the type of namer to fill in every C with a K just for the sake of being "unique." But if there are multiple spellings of a name, I'm likely to pick the pointiest spelling. So yes, I prefer Elektra. Oh well, that's insignificant. Your combos sound very nice, but Charlotte, Clara and Irene are just nms. Here are some hopefully interesting combos I've constructed.

Evarista is interesting. Nms, but interesting.
I love Electra, but prefer it spelled Elektra, which is on my PNL. It seems sharper (which is my reaction to the appearance of K), and sharper is appropriate since she's in my "Naughty Girls" category (she did kill her mother, after all; but I don't hold it against her). I only have a couple of combos right now. I may steal anything good I find in this thread. ;-)

The Clara Electra / Claire Elektra thing is a coincidence. Maybe for my Claire Elektra, the C spelling would be more balanced, like with your Clara. *considering*
Let me see if I can come up with some more suggestions. It's great with other Greco-Roman names, imo. Scanning my PNL, I find:
Elektra Bellona (Roman goddess of war; nifty)
Elektra Benedetta (perhaps contradictory, but lots of short Es, and we both love Benedict)
Elektra Claudia (maybe better with the C spelling)
Elektra Cleopatra (ditto)
Elektra Danica (ditto)
Hecate Elektra (ditto again; Pavlos says the H is silent: eh-KAHT-ee)
Elektra Katera (kah-TAIR-ah or kah-TEHR-ah; maybe same diff)
Elektra Katrienne (kah-tree-EHNN, sort of elongating the N a bit)
Elektra Lyonesse
Elektra Lysette
Elektra Nightingale (a must, for me)
Elektra Nyx (personally I like NICKS better than the orthodox NEEKS)
Scarlett Elektra (lots of these would be better spelled with a C, wouldn't they)

Oooh lotsa good ones here. (I must say that I almost always prefer C's to K's - I have never really been comfortable with K's position in the alphabet, and every name with K I must fall for suddenly and hard, after seeing it over and over for some time.)

I got excited about Elektra Nightingale and Nyx too.
It's a funny thing about the K's. In fact after consideration in this thread I went and added a bunch of these to my PNL, but I changed Hecate Elektra to Hekate Elektra, and didn't change any to Electra. :p

I, too, prefer Elektra. K's are fun. As long as they're not kre8tyffly put in for no good reason, that is. I was thinking of Elektra Nightengale but didn't put it down. I know a Serena Nightengale. Mad cool. And I put Elektra Nyx down for kicks and giggles, because it sounds like "electronics." I really love the combo itself, but electronics makes it rather unusable. Boo.

Evarista sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it -- not necessarily as a name for a person either. Linda Evangelista? Starbuck's barista? I'm not sure. Do you have any more information on it, or was it a product of your dream-mind?
Electra is very intriguing. It has the potential to be really kooky, but artsy and daring too. I'd stay away from a fn beginning with a "k" sound. Carmen Electra immediately comes to mind when I consider Clara Electra. Carmen Electra isn't necessarily a bad association. It's just that she owns that template in my head and I'd prefer to see you strike out in a new direction. Charlotte Electra is nice. Zoe Electra, Noor Electra, Lucienne Electra? [I almost suggested Juno Electra, but "General Electric" came to mind. It's probably best to avoid a "j" first name too.]

Evarista you have probably seen from scanning pope lists - Evaristus. Shoulda clarified that.
I kind of like the combo Carmen Electra actually :P I really like Zoe and Noor Electra, thanks. Juno Electra's cool too and I hardly ever like Juno.

Evarista is not made up -- thanks! The snob in me is free to love it now. Connections to obscure popes only adds to the attraction of the name.
