I love this spelling of Serena! It is much prettier with the C in my eyes.
Googled it and found out that it's a commonly used variant.
Would you know how to pronounce it right away?

I would know to pronounce Cerena just like Serena. But Cerena makes me think of cereal, not "serene."
I prefer the original Roman way, Serena, because of the meaning.
However, I will admit that when it comes to a similar sounding name Selena / Celina, I prefer the "c" spelling.

Yes the meaning does get somewhat obscured by the C spelling. Hmmm... definitely something to think about.

I would know how to prn it, yes, but honestly?, that might be because it reminds me of cereal, sorry. And Cessnas (planes). However, I do see the attraction. I like different, and Cerena is different.
In response, may I ask how you might feel about Sarina? It's another variant I toy with. In fact, come to think of it I've been toying with another related name: Serenissima. If you have a thought about either...?

Sarina is fine, but it reminds me of Sarin gas unfortunately. I don't know, I just like the roundness of Cerena (if that makes any sense -- if it doesn't don't worry, it's me)It looks prettier written that way

I hadn't thought of Sarin gas. That is unfortunate.
I do understand what you mean about the roundness of Cerena. The C and all. Letter shapes impact my thoughts too.

I forgot to say earlier that I would also have known the prn because of Cecilia -- though I prefer Cecelia, which seems rounder to me. :-)

Hmm, I wasn't the biggest fan of it before you mentioned the roundness, but now I get the appeal. Can't say I like it, but I get it.
To answer your original question, yes I'd know how to pronounce it. It doesn't remind me of cereal, or anything else. It does look a bit strange to my eyes though, because Serena is so tied to, well, serene, serenity. There's no "c" there. But that is just personal preference of course.
