Help[Opinions] Ashmead
I've been doing a fair bit of Australian history etc. lately and we've been talking about Ellis Ashmead-Bartlett lately and im really starting to like Ashmead as a FN. Mainly because we refer to him as Ashmead-Bartlett it sounds like Ashmead is his first name.
If I was going for a whole WWI theme for a name, possibly:
Ashmead Francis Charles
Ashmead after Ellis Ashmead-Bartlett
Francis after the digger i researched Francis Horatio Faddy
Charles after Charles Edwin Woodrow Bean

I don't know who any of these people are, sadly. :-(
Normally I surmonize about using surnames only if they are from your own family tree. My logic is, anything else is meaningless and comes across as wannabe rich, i.e., tacky.
But here you have a role model in mind. There's a lot of meaning in that so I can understand and get behind the choice. Ashmead itself is appealing, although it makes me think of china patterns more than a person's name. But that's my odd brain at work. The nn Ash is very attractive.
I adore the name Francis, by the way. And Charles is very handsome.
