I love the name Genevieve. I also love the nicknkame Ginny, which is better then Genny to me. I also love the nickname Eve and Evie. Do you like name Genevieve? Why or why not?

I love the name Genevieve too. It seems classic and feminine but strong as well. I agree that Ginny is a better nickname than Genny but I prefer Eve or Evie.

It's nice and generally not overdone... If it were overdone, I might get tired of it, but as things are right now, I think it can be nice... esp. when put beside all the Emmas, Emilys, Hannahs, Sophias, Madisons, Lilys and Abbys.

If it isn't obvious . . .I like the name Genevieve, just a little bit. ;-) It is, in fact, my favorite girls name, and what I hope to name my first daughter in the future. I love it first because it was my grandmother's name and I was very close to her. I always told her when she was alive that one day she would have a great-granddaughter named for her. Also, I chose it as my Confirmation name. Finally, I just think it's a lovely name. It's not common, but not unheard of. It's an interesting mix of sounds. And it's a devil for some people to spell, which makes it somewhat-- I dunno-- mischievous? My favorite NN is Evie.

One of my cabbage patch dolls had this name.

I love it. It's so classic and pretty. The nicknames it has aren't bad either. I prefer Ginny or Eve for a NN.

I adore GenevieveWhat an absolutely beautiful name. It oozes pure class, luxury and elegance. I'm in love with it. Ginny works just fine for me but I prefer Evie - quirky and cute but it still ages well. For me and a lot of people, Ginny will automatically equate to Ginny Weasley but I can't think of any famous Evies (except my aunt :-P)

I like Genevieve but prefer the JENN-a-veev pronunciation. I also don't care much for Ginny or Genny. I would probably go with Evie as a nn.

I love the name Genevieve. It is very feminine without being fragile or wimpy or frilly. It has a lot of class to it and is pretty resistant to trends. The Vs in the name add zip to it and it reminds me of a lively person with a very beautiful face. I dislike the nicknames Ginny and Genny, but Eve and Evie are sweet.
