[Opinions] Cheryl
I think it would be kind of cute to see Cheryl on a little girl. I kind of like it. WDYT? To me it has a similar feel as Chloe so I can see it making a comeback- what do you think?Do you know any Cheryls? Is it dated? Can you think of other ways to spell it? Cheril? Is it too insubstantial because it has been made up?

I like Cheryl way better than Chloe... It's softer and more tasteful... There were only a few in my generation... maybe a few more the generation before. I know a few. I did know one who spelled it Sheryl. Cheril doesn't quite look right... this one needs the y... a spinoff from Cheryl that's kind of pretty is Cheralyn.

I think Cheryl is beautiful. I love everything about it, the spelling, the way it sounds, even if it is "made up" (more names than you people would care to admit are).

Cheryl is very dated, and unappealing. It's too close to Beryl, which is very old sounding. I would leave the spelling as is. Maybe use it as a mn? I once knew a girl, her name was Susan Cheryl.

It's sooooo dated for me. I really can't get past that; I know a bunch of Cheryls, all about 50-60. I don't see it making a comeback, at least where I live. Sheryl is really the only other spelling I've seen. I don't think it's too insubstantial because it's made up. I just think it's incredibly dated.

I dislike Chloe, but at least it has historic roots.
I don't see any similarity in feel with Cheryl, which is a modern concoction, and very shallow. I knew a woman, 60-something, who was named Cheryl because her parents were Charles and Beryl. At least they had an excuse ... Her name was Cheryl Marilyn. Horribly modern and horribly dated.
I do have a soft spot for Cherry, having been at school with a funny, cute girl with that name.

My neighbor growing up was named Cheryl...she's probably in her early sixties now and is an artist, absent-minded and sort of elegant in an understated, homey way. I used to go to her house and paint...so for me it has good associations and I think it sounds quirky...I like it! Thanks for reminding me. :)

I don't like it at all. It's dated, modern and made-up.

Cheryl is alright. Reminds me of Silent Hill but it's still nice. I don't really like Chloe
