[Opinions] Katherine
I have loved the name Katherine for all my life and plan to give it to my child. My grandmas name is Felicitas and my mom's is Felicia, so I think it would be nice to have a Kaitlyn (me) and a Catherine. But the K and C look kind of awkward together, even though that is my favorite spelling. So my questions are...
1)Would Kaitlyn and Katherine look better, or Kaitlyn and Catherine?
2)Which spelling has more nicknames, and Which spelling do you prefer?

1. If you prefer Catherine, keep it that way. The mismatched spelling isn't too awkward. Besides, few people will take in to consideration the spellings of your name and hers, especially the friends of your future daughter.
2. Katherine probably has more natural nicknames (Katie, Kathy, Kate, and Kat come to mind), but most of those nicknames can be reproduced with Catherine. Katherine is my favorite spelling though.

My name is Kaitlin and I plan on using Catherine too!
I think Catherine looks better with Kaitlin/Kaitlyn than Katherine. Katherine and Kaitlyn just look too similar.
I prefer Catherine because it looks softer. I am also sick of K names. If I use it as a middle name, I plan on using Katherine though.

I prefer the C spelling. I think it's softer and more beautiful than the K. And i agree with the opinion that Kaitlyn and Katherine would be too matchy.
I've used the C spelling for my daughter's middle name and I'm very happy with it ;o).
As for nicknames, we don't really use them but I like Cat, Cate and Cathy.

2. I prefer Catherine. The Catherines I've known haven't used a nickname.

I prefer Catherine with a 'C', I see what you mean about the 'C' and the 'K' looking awkward together, but if Catherine is your favourite spelling, go for it :]
I think both spellings have equal nicknames, for example Kate and Cate. (I love Kate spelled with a C)
Some nicknames for Catherine; Cat, Cate, Cath, Cathy, Rinny, Cay, Catie and loads more :]
I'd go for Catherine! :]

Kaitlyn is my name, and I have no intention of changing the spelling anytime soon.
I prefer Katharine, sp with a second a.
I don't really like Catherine with C at all so I'd probably pick sp Katherine because of that. I also think all the nn look better with a K - Kate, Katie, Kat, Katya, Kathy, Kaye etc.
Catherine seems dated to me, whereas Katherine is quite modern and fresh. I knew a girl named Catherine and I hated her name, I thought it would be much better suited to a middle aged person. Then I met a girl who used sp Katherine and that changed my whole impression of the name.
