I like it as a nickname for Rosemary, Romilly or Andromeda.

I like Romy as a full name, mainly because I can't think of any name that particulary lends itself to that nn escept maybe Ramona. I really, really dislike Rosemary!!

I love Romy, but only as a nn. It feels too flimsy to stand on its own, to me.If you don't like Rosemary, then other formal names can do just as well: Rosemarie, Rosamund, Romilda, Roma, Margot, Promise?

i like Romy but ive never seen it used as a name on its own or as a nn for Rosemary. i had a guy friend in school who we called Romy nn for Jerome. hes the on the only Romy ive known very well so i guess i associate it more as a male name.

It just reminds me of Romy Schneider. It's all right as a nickname, I guess (but even then I'm not a fan), but I really dislike it as a full name.

I love the name Romy. Not such a fan of Rosemary being a longer form of it, even though I know it is, because they give off different vibes to me. Romy sounds spunky to me, while Rosemary is sweet and quiet.
