What do you think of the name Ryder? Personally, I like it. But it has been on my mind lately so I thought I would see what everyone else thinks of it.

mostly because of Alex Rider (i like Rider too) but I tend to like "trendy" names lke Rylan, Jayden, Ryder, Kylan..

I'd forgotten that was his real name. How unfortunate. I'm sure he finds it funny now, but there must have been times where he wanted to crawl in a hole over it.

I also think of Kate Hudson's son, and a character of mine from years and years back.

Two words:

Leather pants.

Seriously, that's all this name makes me think of. Leather pants, in every sense that leather pants can be portrayed.

Leather pants on an old biker dude.
Leather pants on a guy who thinks he's a rock star but isn't.
Leather pants on a jerk who goes to clubs trying to pick up women in leather skirts.

The whole name just seems so... tacky to me. Just like, icky icky icky. It's a guy with greased back hair with leather pants and an appletini who memorises pick-up lines to try on that girl at the club with the body glitter.

So yeah. Basically the name Ryder gives me the image of nothing but leather pants. Leather pants and SLEAZE.

Y'know...

There are times where leather pants aren't ALL bad. But only on a very few (VERY FEW) number of individuals.

As trendy as it may seem, I love it.

Sure, it's got the trendy Y, it has the trendy -er ending, it's a surname, it could easily be used in sexual jokes. But there's just something about it that I love! Ryder James may be bland, but it's very handsome.
