[Opinions] Ned
WDYTO Ned? My friend mentioned it to me, because she hates the name. :-P I just thought I'd see what you all think of it.

Don't think I've ever actually met anyone named Ned... Seems to be a typical tv nerd/dweeb/annoying uncle kind of name.

I love Ned as a NN for Edward. As a given name it seems a little incomplete, but it's fab as a familiar name. I much prefer it over Ed or Eddie.

I love Ned. I know people are going to say it makes them think of Ned Flanders but it conjures up images of Elizabethan times and pirates for me. Very romantic.

I think it's a sweet nickname.

I actually don't mind the name Ned at all. I think it sounds great for a little boy and quite strong and handsome for a man.

I have grown to like Ned as a nickname thanks to the show, Pushing Daisies.

I think it can be a cute nickname on the right guy. Edwin or Edward nn Ned are great IMO.

I'm not a fan. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's not my cup of tea.

Ok, well. I think it takes a specific character to be able to wear the name Ned and not come off looking...goofy. I like it well enough, though for more of a nn than a full name.

I kind of like it as a name for a dog. I think it's the name of the dog in Brian Jacques's Castaways of the Flying Dutchman and I like it because of that. I can't see it on a person though.
