[Opinions] Beatrice (m)
I like them both. The problem is that I met a very uneducated and slutty (sorry) girl named Beatrice and a rather stupid and very conservative girl named Beatrix "Bea" at horse riding camp when I was about 14. I still remember them vividly, especially Beatrice who would tell us about her sex adventures and favorite sex positions (she was 13) uhm yeah. I met another mean girl named Beatrix "Trixie" in high school. So I have pretty bad associations with both names. However with Beatrix I can think of Beatrix Potter and with Beatrice I think of Ann Carter (child actress) who played a beautiful, wise, observing and educated little girl named Beatrice nn Bea in a 1940s movie. I just loved that character so it helped me push my negative Beatrice images aside.I prefer Beatrice and I like Bea (though I'd probably spell it Bee) as an occasional nickname. It seems more elegant than Beatrix plus you get Trixie from Beatrix which I dislike and I'd be scared people would call her that. You can't really go wrong with either but today my pick is Beatrice.I pronounce Beatrice as bay-ah-TREEZ, BAY-uh-treez or BEE-uh-tris and Beatrix as BEE-ah-trix so no beer tricks association.

Thank you - really helpful comments. I too dislike Trixie so am swaying towards Beatrice. Plus our surname is Scott and Beatrice Scott sounds better than Breatrix Scott.
Bea will definitely be her nickname - used most of the time.
