I don't like it, I prefer HAY-lee over HAL-ee. I just think HAY-lee flows better, and HAL-ee sounds too much like Holly, so I think if it's pronounced HAL-ee, people automatically think Holly.
I prefer the spelling Halle, and I have yet to meet a "HAL-ee".
