[Opinions] Cecilia
What do you think of Cecilia? I know the name means blind, but I'm not so worried about that, she was also the patron saint of music. I really love the name, but do have some negative thoughts, just wondering if anyone else will have similar thoughts. If I were to use this name, it would be as Cecilia Josephine.

The meaning isn't bad. "Blind" could mean that she isn't influenced by how people look but she is able to see the inner beauty within a person. It really is up to interpretation. It doesn't have to mean "blind" in a negative way.I like Cecilia a lot but I prefer Cecily. You might also like Celeste?Cecilia Josephine is okay but I prefer Cecilia Seraphine (too many S sounds, maybe)

It's ok... I prefer Cecily by miles. Cecilia Josephine is rather lovely, though.

Love it. One of my favorites. I have no negative thoughts, it's a lovely name. I don't hang to much on the meaning of names. A majority of the population will have no idea what the name means.
Cecilia Josephine is okay, I'm not a huge fan of Josephine, but it's okay.

I prefer Celia, I like the sound better and it has a nicer meaning ('heaven').

Cecilia Josephine is quite lovely. I don't see anything wrong with the name. What are your negative thoughts on it? That would better help me judge the name.

My friend's daughter has celiac disease and I now hear this in the name Cecilia. I also wondered if it's sounds overly fussy and upper class. But I really love this name. I quite like Celie as a nn.

I don't think it is overly fussy, especially with the nn Celie, which is really great. I don't think of Celiac disease, and I am a student nurse.
However, if you were going to name a child Addison or Gonorrhea, then we would have a talk. :)

i too am a student nurse...but i don't see any relationship b/n Cecilia and Coeliacs disease..i agree its nowhere near as bad as a baby chlamydia or gonorrhea..I'm sure given that there are countless diseases someone somewhere is bound to have the name of one as their name and may never even know. after all some are named after people..

I like Cecilia. I have some difficulty with the meaning, but overall I like the name. Cecilia Josephine is beautiful! On a separate note, I'm not Catholic, but I like the idea of using saint names. I've considered using Peregrine. He's the patron saint of cancer patients and my grandmother died of cancer a few years ago.
