i have a friend whose name is Daniel Alan Newton and his initials spell out a shortened version of his first name.. DAN. i was wondering if any of you know anyone like that..

My aunt [pre-marriage] was Samantha Anne M. (Sam). I also know a Kimberly Irene M. (Kim), she uses the full Kimberly though.

I actually know two people like that.

One is Megan Elaine G. (MEG) Her parents did that on purpose with the intention of calling her Meg, but the nickname never stuck and so she only goes by Megan now.

I also know someone named Samuel Aaron M., and he gets called SAM.

I think that it's kind of a cool idea, but I don't know if I would ever do something like that.

I don't know anyone like that, but I was planning to have a son named to have his initials spell out ACE, and that would be his nickname, since everyone objected to it so strongly as a given name

Well, I know an Alexander Lange (no middle name) whose nickname is Al, but none with three letters.

We are considering doing this to our son, Samuel Alexander M., nn Sam. But just because Samuel is a family name and so is Alexander.

I think it's kind of cute.
