It's great and not overused (in Canada, anyway). Exotic, yet familiar:)

I like the sound, but not the spelling. I like Laila better, but I would be afraid it would get pronounced like LYE-lah (which I like, too, but spelled as Lila). I like Leila, but I pronounce it as LEE-lah. So confusing. :b BTW, I recently saw a combo on a birth announcement that made me like Layla more: Layla Rosalie. Very pretty.

I love it too. It's a very pretty name and this is my fave spelling, because I think it makes it very easy to know how it should be pronounced.

I like it, but I prefer the spelling Leila although people don't seem to agree on the pronunciation of Leila.

Layla is a lovely name. I also like the spelling Laila. I also love Lila (Lie-la).(In Sweden Laila is pronounced Lie-la and Leila is pronounced Lay-la)"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I looove the name! I really prefer the spelling Leila, though. Lay is probably not a great thing to have in a name.

Laela is horrible! Leila, Layla, and Laila are real spellings. Laela is crappy and made up, and ruins a beautiful name.
