Mostly because I can't stand the "e" in Amelia becoming an "ee" sound. I have no idea why, but it terribly bothers me in some name (Eli, Levi, Amelia, etc.) and not at all in others (Daphne, Athena, Lorena, etc.). I think it also looks better.
