[Opinions] Chesley
Since the name of the pilot who saved the passengers on US Airways Flight 1549 came out as Chesley, people have asked me if that is my name, rather than Chelsea. I have also heard other people call him Chelsey.
What do you think of the name Chesley and in comparison to Chelsey and Chelsea, which do you prefer?

I read it ,and keep reading it as Chelsea, and I dislike that. I much prefer Chelsea any day less confusion.
Good to see you back Chels! I missed you around here.

I have no idea why but Chesley sounds like the name of a cowboy. I have no idea why
I like Chelsea better. But both Chelsey and Chelsea are dated
I like Chelsea, but Chesley made me giggle when I saw it in the news. Maybe because I kind of hear it as Chest-ley? In any case, if your name is silly enough to be distracting after you've done something incredible, that's not a good sign.
I've heard it before. The cemetary where my Papa is buried ony has about 50 graves in it (small town) and most of them (about 75%) are from 1800-1930. There is a boy who died at age 6 in the 1980's named Chesley. I didn't see about the pilot tho, I've never seen it anywhere other than the cemetery.
Well, the fact that I thought it said Chelsey the whole time, kind of makes me really not like it. I imagine it would get mispronounced and misspelled a lot.
It's good to see you back, Chels'!

Thanks Megan! I felt the same way as you actually when I saw it.
Oh God. Chesley is one of my biggest guilty pleasures. I would not use it because I generally dislike surnames as first names, but it just sounds so nice. I like it much better than Chelsea (which I hate, maybe because it reminds me of the football club). Go Chesley, go Chesley! :)
I think they both are rather dull and sort of just, annoying. Chesley sounds like a misspelling of Chelsey and Chelsea reminds me of a snooty cheerleader.
