[Opinions] Sonya, Sveta, and Sasha
What are your thoughts on Sonya and Sasha (both for girls)? I remember I used to adore them both and then they kind of faded... I'm finding myself drawn to the Russian names again. Sonya? Sonja? Sonia? I'm leaning towards Sonya. Sveta is a new name for me, but I think I like it. Would you pronounce it SVAY-tah or SVEH-tah?
Sonya and Anya as sisters? Sonya and Sasha? Sonya and Sveta? Sveta and Sasha? All three?
Middle names for each of them?
Thanks, I know it's a big asking.

So lovely. I don't care for the other S names you listed.
Sonya and Anya are too similar though, as are Sonya paired with any of the other S names.

I like Sonya. I know a woman who named her dd Sonya and used Sunny as a nn which I think is cute. (That's kind of strange when I think about it now because Sonya is already a nn for Sophia. But I'm digressing.)
Sonya / Sonia / Sonja is one of those overlooked treasures that deserves to be revived. I should prefer the "y" spelling from all the years of Russian I took and the transliteration rules. But I admit my Sony television pops into my head when I see Sonya. So I opt for Sonia, as in Ms Braga. Very alluring. Sonja is nice too, but wwould be difficult to live with outside of Scandinavia / Eastern Europe. (I'm in the U.S.)
Sonia Valentine
Sonia Gabrielle
Sonia Vivien
Sonia Pascale
Sonia Margot
Sonia Victorine
Sonia Ruby
Sonia Mirabel
Sasha is a male nn to me. I hate to see it used on dds.
Sveta is nice, but I prefer Svetlana. Oh, to see a Svetlana or two here in the U.S. Gorgeous. (I actually prefer Svea to Sveta, but again Svea wouldn't be the easiest name to live with here. Maybe in Minneapolis, though?)
Sveta Margit / Marguerite

Sonya Blade!!! lol...
Sorry...I can only think of Mortal Kombat when I hear the name Sonya. I don't really like it, but I like it more than Sveta. I like Svetlana more than Sveta too if the beginning sound is wha t you're after.
Sasha is one of I love on it's own and as a nn :). I think Sasha and Anya or Sasha and Sonya would sound good together

I absolutely love Sonya. I'm a bit torn on the spelling as well, but in this case I'd go with Sonya, since we're talking russian spelling. I'd see Sonja more suitable in a Germanic language and Sonia in Italian, Spanish and so on.
I'm not a huge fan of Sasha. I don't particularly like it, plus the fact that it's a nn (I know Sonya is one as well)... For some reason I just can't seem to warm to it as a full name.
I like Sveta. I'd pronounce it Sveh-tah.
Out of your sibets I'd go for Sonya and Anya, as I adore Anya as well. I knew a sibset once Tanya and Sonya. I loved it back then as well. I think the -nya names sound great.
As for middle names...
Sonya Nathalia
Sonya Louise
Sonya Marie
Sonya Skye
Sonya Leanne
Sonya Elizabeth
Sonya Sage
Sonya Cathleen
Sveta Alisa
Sveta Anastasia
Sveta Theodora
Sveta Katarina
Sveta Marina
as for Anya my usual combo for it, is Anya Celine but I'm also thinking
Anya Celeste
Anya Sophie
Anya Claire
Anya Marguerite
If I were to choose I'd go for Sonya Sage and Anya Celeste.
Lea
I like Sonya (I had an aunt named Sonja) and Sasha is nice although I see it more as a masculine name than feminine. I don't like Sveta at all. It makes me think of sweat and sweating. I would pronounce it sveh-tah. Svay-tah doesn't make sense and I think it is very unattractive. Don't like Anya either.
