I agree with you 100% on Louis pronounced the French way. I think the Brits say it that way too, but don't quote me on that.
I can't say I share your enthusiasm for Camille, though. Yes, it's a feminine classic and is miles ahead of Brittney, Taffy, etc. But that "meel" sound grates on my nerves. I want to like it, but I haven't been able to make myself so far. Camilla has a lighter, happier feeling to it, to me.

We do pronounce Louis the French way.
I like the pronunciations of each of them. Louis(LOO-IS, or LOO-EE) Camille(CAM-EE) or CAME-AL). Both of them are very good names regardless pronunciations.
