Louis is great, especially with the French pronounciation. It's much more handsome that way. I love Camille for a boy, but prefer Camilla for a girl.

When I see Louis, I see LOU-iss. So it's hard for me to see it and think of the French pronunciation, which also sounds nicknamey to me (because of Louie). :b I LOVE Camille, though. For a girl, esp. as a middle name.

I agree with you 100% on Louis pronounced the French way. I think the Brits say it that way too, but don't quote me on that. I can't say I share your enthusiasm for Camille, though. Yes, it's a feminine classic and is miles ahead of Brittney, Taffy, etc. But that "meel" sound grates on my nerves. I want to like it, but I haven't been able to make myself so far. Camilla has a lighter, happier feeling to it, to me.

I like the pronunciations of each of them. Louis(LOO-IS, or LOO-EE) Camille(CAM-EE) or CAME-AL). Both of them are very good names regardless pronunciations.

I like Camille too, not sure about Louis though, unless its pronounced like Louise and not Lew-ee.
