I like it a lot. It's really neat; it makes me think of Florence Nightingale as it was her sister's name. I don't care for Persephone.

I love Parthenope. It's unusual and I think I like it as much as Persephone. Naturally, it reminds me of the Parthenon, but they're related so it's a non-issue for me.

What an awful name! I would never call anyone that!

I love Parthenope. It was Florence Nightingale's sister's name. The TV announcer pronounced it, "par-THEN-uh-pee." Fun, fun, fun. It reminds me of the Parthenon (sp?) in Athens. Persephone and Parthenope both have that Greek-chic that I love. Persephone is more well known so it would be the "safer" of the two. I couldn't really choose between the two. I just depends on what you're going to use it for. As a mn, you could indulge a GP like Parthenope easily. Or, if it's for a pet, go for broke and use Parthenope. It really depends.
