This a name database, follow the link to the name Meaghan and read what it says: it's a variant spelling of the name Megan.

Well I know that but it doesn't give any extra information to the variation of Meaghan.

Geez because meanings of names and how they came to be can't have any meaning outside of behind the name.I have read in a book that Meaghan IS a canadianized spelling. It's also used to look more like the traditional spelling, even though I don't like the name as its self. Hope that helps :)

It's not "canadianized"I've seen it plenty of times in the US. It's just a variant. People add letters to names to make them seem unique. And an ugly one at that.
