Help[Opinions] Sally
I've been thinking about the name Sally since I watched the Doctor Who episode Blink, where there is a character named Sally Sparrow (who is AWESOME!). It's my favorite Episode so far in the series and I've really fallen in love with the name since I saw it... but I want some other opinions of this name:
1.) What's your opinion of Sally?
2.) What are some good names for her siblings?
3.) Should it be a nickname for something, or is it good on its own? If you think it should be a nickname for something, what?
4.) What's a good middle name for it? (I was thinking Sally Lorraine)
5.) Do you think it falls into the category of everyone knows but you hardly ever see someone younger then 30 named it anymore? (Like Harry, Sue, Randy etc.)
6.) Lastly, what do you think someone named Sally would be like? What are some presumptions that come with the name Sally?

1. I think it's alright. A bit old-fashioned, but I like those kind of names. I have a friend my age (early 20's) named Sally, so she kind of puts a new twist on it for me though.
2. Anything else old-fashioned... Nancy, Sue, Betty, Fred, Eddie (got those from Nymbler) :)
3. I think it would be best as a nickname. Probably for Sarah. I don't know what else it could be a nickname for. Any other Sal- or Sar- name, I guess.
4. Sally Louise is what comes to mind (I noticed BBH posted it). My husband's grandmother's name is Rachel Louise, but she goes by Sally.
5. Yes, I do. As I mentioned, I do know someone younger than 30 named Sally though.
6. I think of a conservative and polite girl, but interesting and artsy.

Thanks, and I agree it does need to be dragged out of that category.. I like the names that everyone knows yet are not used often. That's why I like it so much.
I like it with Sparrow too but I think that fans of Doctor Who would get the reference right away... Not a bad idea, but this isn't for an actual kid.
I'm with you with the whole not being sure if it can stand on it's own... I'd like to find a full name for it, that isn't Sara(h), but I'm not to fond of Salena or Salacia - which are the only alternatives I've found so far.
