I like that combo, it's very energetic.

Piper sounds like the name of someone that is hyper, constantly, and I really don't like it, so that shoots the combination of Piper Ruth for me. Such a pity, though. Ruth is such a pretty name.

Not such a huge fan of Piper (reminds me of Charmed too much), but I really like Ruth.

I love Piper. But since it's quite no-frills and spunky sounding, I'd prefer it with a girlier middle name than Ruth.Piper Juliana is one of my favourites. I know Ruth is a family name for you though :-)_____________________________________________________________________Elinor'Why do people with closed minds, always open their mouths?'

Love it, but has a big but.. (m) (13+)In Dutch, a Piper (spelled "pijper", pronounced the same) means "someone who gives a blow job"..not something you want to be remind of right? Indy

Are you Dutch and can verify this? I posted aboutthis on another name board and this was the response I got:the word is pijpeN not pijper. Please check your facts before spreading falsehoods. Info found at The Alternative Dutch Dictionary site.

oh please let me explain before you jump to conclusions!!For your information, i am DutchPijpeN is a verb, "i (ik) pijp, you (jij) pijpt, he (hij) pijpt, we (wij) pijpen". Now a person who "pijps" (blow job) is called a pijpeR (pronounced as Piper). Same goes with a lot of verbs, such as bakkeR (someone who bakes), slageR (a butcher, someone who butch), loodgieter (plumber, someone who plumbs (sp.?), etc etc etc. As you might understand, in Dutch, 'someone who verb', ends in R, not N (the verb mostly ends in N)Hope you learned something!Edited To Add; i know i probably sound nasty in this message, but if you would've pressed the button that says "indigo", you would've seen i'm Dutch and you wouldn't have questioned me in the first place. So please check profiles in the future Indy

If I had jumped to conclusions, I would have said you werewrong :) I wasn't jumping to any conclusions; hence, the question. I know this is an international community and I was hoping you were Dutch :)Someone on another name board said I was ridiculous for posting your comment and said that they had gone to the alternative Dutch dictionary site to prove it.I will now let them know what you said here.

Yikes, I knew it meant Pepper in a few languages, but I didn't know that one. Thanks for pointing it out.

Piper Ruth-cute

Piper is growing on me. I'm still not absolutely in love with it but I think it's ok. Not my style but cute for someone else.Piper Ruth is a good combo. Piper needs a more traditional mn to balance it out and Ruth does that.
Go on, be evil and get lazy.

I like the name Piper, I don't really like Ruth and if you're looking for a middle name for Piper I think the mn shouldn't start with an R
edit: spelling

I agree with you. I like the name Ruth, but Piper sounds too surnamey for my taste, plus it sounds like a boy's name.

Piper seems to be a trendy name. I think it clashes with the classic name, Ruth.

That's exactly what I thought. Neither name is bad, the just don't flow well. ----Betsy-----
