How would you pronounce Islay ?Wdyt to this name for a boy?

It is definitely Eye-la (like Isla) and is used predominately for girls in Scotland, as it is the name of an island here. I really like it pronounced Eye-lay though and have been trying to find a spelling which makes this obvious, and which doesn't look tacky and made up. No luck so far!

It's pronounced Eye-la. You can see it sometimes from the coast in the north of Ireland. I like the spelling Isla more, and it's one of my favourite girl's names.

Yeah thats one of my favourite girl names too! I'm just trying to find a male alternative...so they are pronounced the same? that is strange.I would have said EYE-LAY

It's always Eye-la, no matter how you spell it.
