I have always liked this name as a sort of GP, but when I heard it spoken in a film the other day I totally fell in love with it. The only problem is that I can't find a suitable combo.
I have:
Algernon Maitland
but that is seeming a little sour now.
Possibles are:
Algernon Jan
Algernon Keanu
Algernon Sebastian Henri
Algernon Garth (seriously gp. My head is begged me to write it down lol)Thanks:0)

I love Algernon. I've loved it since I was six years old, but I forgot about it for the loooongest time, until I read The Importance Of Being Earnest just about four months ago and fell back in love with it. It's such a great, spunky, literary name (with the coolest meaning I've ever heard :P). I like Algernon Sebastian Henri a lot. It has a great flow. Algernon Garth is okay, as is Algernon Jan, but I'm not really fond of either. I hope this doesn't offend you, but I think Algernon Keanu has TERRIBLE flow, and seems mismatched.My combo is Algernon Oscar :-) I also love Algernon Silas.Algernon Felix

Have you ever read "Flowers for Algernon"? I could never use the name after reading that book. I do like your Algernon Maitland combo, though.

...why not?I understand some names can have bad associations, but what's so bad about having your name associated with a mouse? I'm in love with the name Algernon and read Flowers For Algernon mainly because I wanted to see if the association was bad, but it didn't affect my view of the name at all. I fail to see the negativity, to be honest.
