Help[Opinions] Josie - which pronunciation do you prefer?
My grandmother's name is Josie (JO-see). I've noticed that a lot of people say JO-zee and the database also says that it's pronounced JO-zee. Personally, I prefer JO-see. I think it sounds a lot nicer plus I'm used to hearing it pronounced that way. Do you pronounce Josie JO-zee or JO-see, and which do you prefer?

They sound almost identical to me, but I have to say JO-see sounds completely forced and a bit silly when I try to say it.

I say JO-zee. JO-see takes a bit of effort on the part of my tongue. Plus it makes much more sense to me, Josephine is Jo-zeph-EEN.

I like both JO-zee, and the French pronounciation (used in my area)

I prefer JO-see and I always pronounce it that way. My logic is that if there's an s, you shouldn't pronounce it as if it is a z. Plus, I think it sounds nicer.
