[Opinions] Lilith
Do you think it's usable? I think it has a lovely sound but a pretty bad meaning (night monster, eats little children etc). I don't mind the "banned out of Eden" part, just the child eating night monster one. What do you think? Do you know someone named Lilith?

I think it's beautiful and useable. More so than Lucifer, my favorite bad-meaning/bad-association name.I honestly wouldn't cringe at any of those sorts of names (mind you, I'm a heathen...). In fact, I'd be delighted to meet one. Haven't yet.I kind of feel like it's just a name. Just because it's got a "different" mean doesn't mean the kid's going to turn out that way. Once you meet them and "get over the shock" (@@), it's no biggie.

I guess it's usable, but I don't know anyone named Lilith, and I don't care for the name. Associations are important to me; the myths around Lilith and the character from Frasier ruin it for me.

Well... that's not exactly the meaning, is it? It's just the folklore behind the name, so not to seem picky but I don't think it matters too much. Lilith has a nice sound to it as you said and I don't think everyone knows about the connotations behind it, so I don't see why it wouldn't be okay to use it.

I wouldn't mind the meaning, really. And I love the name.

I think it is very usable. I see Lilith as a symbol of strength and feminism and if I found Lilith aesthetically pleasing I would use it in a heartbeat.

I think its pretty, I prefer it over Lillian or any other Lil name (apart from Lily or Lilly). I'm not sure if I'd use it because of the meaning though, perhaps as a middle name.

I say yes, it is usable and I see it as more mystical than dark (along the same lines as Delilah). I do not know anyone named Lilith, but I know several people who have considered the combo Lilith Eve.

I always liked the name, but I can't really imagine naming my kid after a child-eating monster, despite probably a lot of people don't know the meaning behind the name. I might use it in a story instead, it is really nice sounding.

I love it. It's got a really nice sound ^-^. I don't know anyone named Lilith. There was the Lilith on Frasier. She's the only Lilith besides the mythological one I've ever heard of.

Haha, she's the first one I think of.Because I am not religious, my thoughts don't automatically go that route. Pop culture, however... lol.I love that they made her an almighty bitch in the show. Brings the lulz ^^
