Honestly, I think people will think it is a trendy version of Valerie. If you live in an English speaking country (as its first language) I also think that Valeriy on a boy (despite being a male name) will be misconstrued for Valerie and teasing will ensue.
I also cannot say I like the rhymeyness of Valeriy Anatoliy. However, Anatoliy is a good name.
