I'm liking this at the moment. I like the fact it's both an Arabic and Hebrew name. WDYT? Would it be odd on someone without an Arab or Jewish background?

Probably it would be strange. Since it's more common to be creative with girls' names Amira would probably not raise eyebrows.

Amir is a good name. i mean it is a strange name but strange names r often the most beautiful.
