I think it's horrible. I love to honor family but not by naming them after a cemetary. And for a girl it worse. It's harsh and will always be assoicated with the brave men and woman who have died serving our country.

I actually think it's ok. I wouldn't use it, but it beats Remington, which is nasty and which I heard on a girl not so long back. I'd rank it about the same as Emerson, which is usuable and not horrible, but nms.
I think the honouring idea is really cool, though! Very original! And remember that what's preppy now won't necessarily be preppy in say, five years time, so then it will probably become still more usable.

For a girl? No, not even with the nickname Arlie.
For a boy? Yes, it could work. I prefer it as a middle name but I have a soft spot for names ending with -ton so I don't think it's terrible as a first name.

I'm just not seeing anything feminine about this name. It reminds me a lot of Arlington, Texas... mainly because I have a friend from there.

Well, besides being bloody I say it is definately preppy and 'snobbish.' However, I hate it on a girl. It sounds better on boy imo.
