I go by either Joan (my FN) or Joanie. My best friend calls me Joan because she's always loved my name, after all she did name her daughter after me. Most of my family and old friends call me Joanie, but since I started college I started introducing myself as Joan. When I was little my mom would call me Rosie (my MN is Roseann), but it never stuck.
I like how my mom came up with my brother's name. His full name is Daniel Seay (prn. SEE). She wanted to call him Seay, but everyone kept saying "See what?", so she called him D.Seay instead (like D.C.). I really like it, though some people think it sounds weird.
