Just curious to how everyone pronounces Elena. My favorite girls name is Elaina, pronounced Eh-Layn-uh, and for years I was under the impression that Elena was said the same way. I don't want to use the wrong spelling though and forever have to correct people on the pronounciation, so I figured Elaina was a safer bet.

Elena's my middle name. It's pronounced eh-leh-nah, slight emphasis on the middle syllable.

I've always heard it pronounced eh-LAY-nuh. I prefer the spellings Elena and Alaina.

I would pronounce Elena like Eh-leh-nah. I went to school with a girl named Elena and that's how she pronounced it as well.
Elaina I would pronounce like you pronounce it - Eh-lay-nah

I would pronounce it E-le-nah or e-LE-nah.
