[Opinions] Elise and Elisa
Which do you prefer and why? I've always liked Elisa, recently I've been thinking about Elise too. How would you pronounce Elisa? I like it pronounced Eh-lee-sa, not so much E-lay-sa.

I like both but slightly prefer Elisa just because I prefer feminine names ending in a. In both cases, though, I'd use Elisabeth as the full name. That's just the way I am.

Both Elisa and Elise are very pretty, although I've never heard it as E-lay-sa. Personally, I prefer Elise because the spelling looks neater.

I prefer Elise- but I am biased :-p Besides the fact it is my name, in general I prefer the simpler versions of names and I often find a's on ends of names superfluous and unnecessarily frilly. This is one of those names to me. Elisa has always seemed kind of trendy to me as well. Elisa, Elyssa, Alyssa, Alisa were all definitely more popular then Elise when I was growing up so I always thought Elise seemed more traditional.i pronounce Elisa as eh-lee-sah

I was just thinking about Elisa this morning. I really like it, and I pronounce it eh-LEE-sa, like you. I also love Elise which I pronounce eh-LEES.I've never heard Elisa as E-lay-sa, but I have heard it as eh-LEEZ-uh.

I'd pronounce Elisa e-LEE-zah and Elise e-LEE-zə but I'm German so that figures ;)
Elisa is one of my favorite names and it might even become the name of my first daughter. I prefer it over Elise because where I live names ending on -a are (by many people) considered younger and more modern than variants of the same name ending on -e.

I looooove Elisa. It's on place #6 of my favourite girls names list right now. I pronounce it e-LEE-sah. I'm not a fan of Elise. It's so old-fashioned and names ending in -lise sound really unattractive to me.

I prefer Elise because it doesn't sounds as nicknamey as Elisa. And in my eyes Elisa is very italian or eastern european and I normally don't like those names..
Elise is girly and sweet.
I prn Elisa the same way you do.

I like Elise better simply because I've known several Elisa/Alisas. Both are very pretty names. I pronounce it the way you prefer, as did the girls I've known with the name.
