[Opinions] Leigha
I had a friend whose daughter's name was Leigha and I thought it was such a great name, thinking of course that it was Leah, until I saw that it was spelled Leigha. Disappointment.Does anyone think that Leigha is okay as an alternative spelling? Does anyone prefer it to Leah?

Absolutely not okayIt is ugly, and phonetically it should be pronounced Lay-uh, not Lee-uh. Gross.

It looks wrong to me, but if they like it, it's their child.I love Leah and Lia has been growing on me. I just find them both a lot prettier then Leigha.

I wouldn't even pronounce those the same. Ick.:P

I don't mind it; it's either this or Leah. I hate Lia.

No not all!

I like it. The spelling is pretty.

I don't even particularly like Leah, but Leigha is far less tolerable. I don't like unnecessary invented spellings.

I don't really care for Leigha. Leah and Lia are nicer.

I hate it Leigha, Leah is so beautiful why would you make it trendy with the -eigh-. At least it still is half decent, it could have been a bad name spelt wrong!

No, it just doesn't look right; my brain doesn't know whether to pronounce it like 'Leah' or to say something strange like "Leeka" or "Leega".

Leigha is more intresting but Leah is somehow nicer. If you saw the name spelt Leigha you might think it is an new name for you. I like the spelling Leigha though.I personaly would spell it Lia which I think is alot prettier than Leah and Leigha.
Leila is my prefered name but it is quite similar to Leah which it can be shortened to.

It's the middle name of someone I know- and it's pronounced lay-ah.

Whoa. No, I don't think this spelling is okay. Leah is such a great name, it doesn't need to be tampered with. My gut instinct was to pronounce Leigha more like LAY-uh, probably because the first three letters are the same as Leia.

I hate the spelling Leigha and I also hate the spelling Leigh for Lee

It doesn't bother me nearly as much as I think it should. I really, really like Leah and Leigha is not the best spelling but it's not that bad.
I think it's a good spelling if you want to feminise Lee/Leigh because Leah and Leigha could technically be two different names, Leigha being a feminine form of Leigh without any connection to the name Leah.

I really don't like any -eigh names. I'm always confused if it's supposed to be pronounce ay or ee, though the majority of the time it's ee. Leigha has to be one of the worst though, it just doesn't look appealing. I greatly prefer Leah.

It looks super-tacky (I don't care much for Leigh) either. Leah would have been much better!

Blaugh. No thank you. I'm not a big fan of using the "-eigh" spelling for any name, it looks so crunchy and harsh. Also in this instance it makes it look like the name should be pronounced "LAY-ah". I'm not wild about the name Leah in the first place but I far prefer the spelling of Leah or Lia over Leigha.
