[Opinions] WDYT of Acton?
Do you think Acton would suit a young boy?
Does the fact that it is a fairly common last name make a difference?
Does it make you think of a kid that's full of energy or a stodgy old man with a pipe?
As a side note:
Acton Bell was the pseudonym of Anne Bronte when the three sisters first began to publish under male names.
I also like the connection with Lord Acton. He was the one who first said, "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Well, as a major lit geek, I did automatically think of the Bronte sisters... :-D
I don't think it really suits a young child. To me, Acton sounds kind of stuffy. It's not bad by any means, though. And the connection with Lord Acton is neat, too. I'd save it for a middle name.
As for it being a common surname, I don't think that makes a difference at all. It doesn't make it sound trendy or worn, because you'd be using it as a first name.
