Well, to be honest, I can't picture Tristan on a girl. Tristan is the hero of a love story almost as well-known as that of Romeo and Juliet, so it is a 100% male name to me. Actually, it's one of my favourite boys' names.
I never understood why would a misspelled variation of a masculine name be more feminine, so Tristyn gets a big no from me, sorry. Trista, on the other hand, is nice.
