I don't think that Isla's a trendy name. It's getting popular, but that doesn't mean it's trendy. Trendy names are usually meaningless, modern inventions, but Isla has been used in Scotland for (at least) the past two centuries. And the name itself is alot older than that. Aurora and Evangeline are getting popular as well, but I wouldn't call them trendy.

Hmm. I think we differ on the definition of trendy, then. I would absolutely call Evangeline and Isla trendy. I consider trendy names to be names that experience a sudden rise in popularity because they fit in with a trend. Noah, Isaiah, and Elijah are trendy names, for example, without being made up or modern.
To me, meaningless, modern inventions, such as Ayla, Brylie, Jayden, and the like, are more "tryndie" than trendy.
