You'd be surprised by how many people would make the connection. More often that not, at least with those I've talked names with.
I think it's a lovely name, associations aside, but something I'd be INCREDIBLY embarrassed to bear. I'd either go by Candy (which I hate) exclusively or change my name as soon as possible. I saw it on a women my age once and was giggling inside my own head. I could not help myself.
