[Opinions] Dido
What are your thoughts on Dido?

The sound is fine, visually not so good
My brain MUST insert an l between i and d. Can't help it. The similarity to the Dodo bird doesn't bother me, those were some awesome and very special birds.

I think its a cool name. It makes a cool nickname or min option, but I 'd never use it myself.
My mind is in the gutter 98% of the time
But I don't know where y'all are getting dildo from.
It doesn't sound similar at all.
Yeah yeah. It looks similar. I'd still never have made the association and I am a sick bastard sometimes.

I actually love this name, and the myth, but I would only ever use it as a middle name, for....obvious reasons. I think of the singer, Dido Armstrong, when I hear it. She's a good association. But, I think it would only work as a first name if you don't live in an English-speaking country.

Too similiar to Dildo and Dodo
I like the fact that it has mythological origins, but I think it would be difficult to have this name. It's easy to tease for reasons that others have already pointed out ("Dodo" would be a lot better than the other one, and even still, who wants to be called "Dodo"?). I don't think that the sound of the name is particularly attractive either.
I think of the singer. And then I think of, ahem, marital aides.
I'm not fond of it. It's just one letter away from being a blatantly risque object.
I love the classical significance.
The singer is all I can think of. I'm not really fond of the name though. I love the -o ending for girls but Dido turns unfortunate if you just add an L, and it kinda sounds like do-do (as in "idiot").

I've always loved it.
Female names ending in an "o" sound are rare. I have a special penchant for them. With Dido, I also get a long "i" sound, which I love.

I see "dildo".
When I hear it it's nice (prefer it as a nickname), but written I only see Dodo.
Or dildo...
haha thats what I thought too!
exactly what I thought...
