Or possibly EZ-me. I can't tell the difference between Ss and Zs.

es-MAY
That would be the Dutch way of saying it.

Without the accent, es-me. With, ez-may.

In French either ez-meh or ess-meh
In English mostly ess-mee but also ess-may

I say ess-may
Esme is a French name, so it is to be pronounced "Ez-may." However, if you don't like that pronunciation, try (even these aren't correct) "Ez-um," or "Ez-mee."
Esme isn't pronounced like ez-may in French. The -may part is wrong. Ez-meh (the last E like the E in Eric) is the correct pronunciation but I believe the -eh part is hard to pronounce for native English speakers and that's why they say it like ez-may instead.
Thank you. Now I'm mad at pop-culture for mispronouncing it...namely mad at Twilight. Or at least whoever made the movie.
Definitely EZ-may, but I think the French might emphasise the last syllable.
If you're thinking of using it for a girl, I'd advise making sure you spell it the proper French feminine way, Esmée - and make sure the registrar puts that accent on the right letter and the right way round.
