Brendan! Unfortunately I've come to love this name because I've met such a great Brendan, and that even though I hate names that start with Br-. I agree with queenv that Brandon has always seemed like trying too hard to be macho to me. Same with Jordon, Brion, etc. It just seems unneccessary. I do pronounce them differently. Brendan sounds much softer to me while Brandon feels really ugly in my mouth.
