[Opinions] Isidore
How do you like Isidore for a boy? It's lately become one of my favorites; I think it's historical and handsome. I also love Isidora for a girl. What do you think? Would an Isidore or Isidora end up with the nn Izzy? I'm not completely opposed to Izzy, but I'm not wild about it either. As always, feel free to be honest. Thanks! :-)

I like Isidora but I'm not sure about Isidore. It sounds like "is a door" to me.

I really hate Isidore. Isadora (this spelling) is cute, though. I don't think the nn Izzy is guaranteed. If you introduce them as Isidore / Isidora, and correct them if they say Izzy, you shouldn't have issues.

How do you like Isidore for a boy? -Not a favorite. Very old fashioned, plus sounds like " is a door"I also love Isidora for a girl. What do you think? -I love Isadora (prefer this spelling). I recently told my boyfriend about it and he thought I was crazy. I think is really pretty, sweet and romantic. The type of name like Charlotte, Sophie, etc. Dora or Dory could be a cute nickname.
Would an Isidore or Isidora end up with the nn Izzy? -Not neccessarily. All Isabelle's and Isabella's are not Izzy's.

Izzy isn't great, eh?I love Isadora (prefer that spelling, but love it either way).
Not so crazy about Isidore since about an hour ago when I can across Isidore, the patron saint of internet users. I mean, wt-?
*shrugs* Kind of ruined it for me.-Seda*
PS: Not meant to be offensive to Catholics. It's just my opinion on why I don't love the name.

I like both Isidore and Isidora, the male name with nn Izzy and the female name with the nn Dora, which I also love for Theodora. For Theodore my fave nns are Theo and Ted. I think I slightly prefer Theodora and Theodore to Isidora and Isidore, but they're still very nice.PP's in Profile

I think Isadora is a really cute name for a little girl! I don't really like Isadore for a boy especailly if his last name were Bell!! :(A girl named Isadora wouldn't have to go by Izzy but it is kinda cool to have that option! Another nn could be Dora or Dory! :)Oh, and Isadora is cool because it's not that popular, well not as popular as is nieghbors Isabel & Isabella!

I love both names, but would be more likely to use Isidora than Isidore, if that makes sense. Girls can just carry those names off better :-)I prefer the spellings Isadore and Isadora. They look more natural to my eyes. Isadora would be a great alternative to the now-boring Isabella.Like you, I'm not feeling Izzy at all. Hopefully, people wouldn't use that ... It's not the most attractive of nns!_____________________________________________________________________Elinor'Why do people with closed minds, always open their mouths?'

I love Isidore... Isidora is alright.. I think that an Isidore/Isidora could very well become an Izzy.. unfortunately!"Never make someone a priority, who only makes you an option."

Love Isidore, but never Isadora! I don't know why, but I don't like the feminine version. Izzy is alright, I guess.

Isidore is one of my all time favorite names! I like Isidora as a feminine form. If you had a kid named Isidore or Isidora, don't let anyone call them Izzy. That doesn't sound good.Isidore is the perfect name for this web page, for I belive St. Isidore of Seville is the proposed patron saint of Internet users.I don't like the spelling Isadora or Isadore. Isidora and Isidore look better, plus, their are no St. Isadore's or Isadora's, only Isidore's and Isidora's._________________________________________________

I think Isidore is a very handsome name, I love it :)I prefer the spelling Isadora on a girl, and I think the nn Izzy is inevietable (sp?) at least with friends, my sister is an Izzy (Isabelle)Alice

I really love Isadore and Isadora. While the I spellings are fine, too, Isadore is a lot more natural for me to type, heh.I think that Isadore would get Izzy a lot, but Isadora could also be Dora or Dory, which would avoid the Izzy issue. Isidore and Isidora could also conceivably be called Sid or Siddie.I love the nickname Izzy, though, so I'd totally go with it.Array
