[Opinions] Octavia and Octavian
WDYT of Octavia and Octavian? Are they useable? Which do you prefer/would be more likely to use? Would they work best as a MN or FN - and can you think of any combos?
Also, could you see Octavian working with Demetrius? Demetrius Octavian? Octavian Demetrius? Or together in a sibset?

Ooh, I love both of them. I named one of Willow's brothers Octavian, and we called him Tavie and Tavian as a nickname. Have you ever heard a 3 yr old say Octavian? Cutest damned thing ever. Ok, not quite as cute as a 3 yr old saying Xanthe, but close ;) Octavia is neat too. Octavian's new owner was named Octavia, which was just the coolest coincidence- how often do you meet an Octavia?
I've also looked after little kids with both names, and both were pretty cpunky kids. Octavian had a sister called Aria. Octavia went by Tavia, and had a sister called Camara (rhymes with Tamara).
Octavian Demetrius flows better. They work well as brothers. I also like Leonidas as a brother to Octavian- that was what I called our other boy kitten.

I love Octavia, but am not too crazy about Octavian. I prefer Octavio when it comes to a masculine version of this name. I definitely think they're usable, especially Octavia.
Demetrius and Octavian are a lot together as a combo (regardless of the order) or as brothers, but they do work.
These are the Octavia combos on my list: Octavia Beatrice, Octavia Beatrix, Octavia Blythe, Octavia Bronwen, Octavia Bryony, Octavia Camille, Octavia Caroline, Octavia Catherine, Octavia Catrin, Octavia Cecily, Octavia Celestine, Octavia Charlotte, Octavia Clare, Octavia Clarimonde, Octavia Clementine, Octavia Colette, Octavia Corisande, Octavia Delphine, Octavia Fern, Octavia Fleur, Octavia Frances, Octavia Gisèle, Octavia Glynis, Octavia Gwen, Octavia Gwendolen, Octavia Hesper, Octavia Jeanne, Octavia Joan, Octavia Josephine, Octavia Juliet, Octavia June, Octavia Katherine, Octavia Katrin, Octavia Laure, Octavia Laurel, Octavia Lenore, Octavia Lilac, Octavia Lilibet, Octavia Lisbet, Octavia Lorelei, Octavia Lotus, Octavia Louise, Octavia Lucille, Octavia Lucy, Octavia Lydie, Octavia Maren, Octavia Margaret, Octavia Maribel, Octavia Marigold, Octavia Maris, Octavia Mathilde, Octavia Maxine, Octavia Melisande, Octavia Millicent, Octavia Milly, Octavia Nimue, Octavia Pearl, Octavia Peony, Octavia Persis, Octavia Plum, Octavia Poppy, Octavia Róisín, Octavia Rosabel, Octavia Rosalie, Octavia Rosanne, Octavia Rose, Octavia Roselil, Octavia Rosemary, Octavia Rosemonde, Octavia Rosewen, Octavia Ruby, Octavia Sandrine, Octavia Snow, Octavia Tatienne, Octavia Willow, Octavia Winifred, Octavia Winter, Octavia Wren, Octavia Xanthe.

I like both Octavia and Octavian. They're definitely usable, either as first or middle names (depending on what you pair them with, of course). I like Demetrius and Octavian as siblings, but I think they're a bit too unwieldy in the same name.
Whoa, I was just thinking of these names! I really like Octavian just because of its historical significance, but the Oc- beginning throws me off. It's not very attractive. I wish the first Roman emperor's name had been Tavian! Anyway, although it *does* have the nn Tavi to fall back on, I do believe Octavian is too weird to use.
Octavian and Demetrius are too long and complicated as a combo.
Octavia is interesting, but it's of one one those really long names like Lavinia and Sophronia that puts me to mind of characters in a novel about the South. IOW, it doesn't sound like the kind of name a real person would have, not since the 19th century anyway.

I don't like either, but don't mind Octavious. Demetrius is okay.
Love! Especially Octavia--I can see an Octavia Elettra or Octavia Pandora. Octavian is good, too; I like you're pairing it with Demetrius, which I think works quite well. I can also see an Octavian Padraic, or Octavian Eleazer.
