Message: "Ethelia" - Behind the Name

I saw this name in a local obituary, and I thought it was interesting. I don't know whether they pronounced it Eh-THEE-lia, or ETHEL-ia, but either way, I can honestly say I've never heard it before. WDYT?

I like a lot of -elia names, but this isn't a massive improvement on one of the ugliest names around, ie Ethel. In the first pron., it's definitely reminiscent of "ethilic".

Huh, it's a new name for me too. My instinct is to pronounce it ee-THEEL-ee-ah, but I have no idea if that's correct or not. It is pretty, but not a name I would ever use. Interesting find, though, for sure!

I think it is beautiful...

I have never heard of it and I have always hated Ethel and I am not even overly big on -lia names but I really really like this. I am saying it eh-THEEL-lee-ah
