[Opinions] Re: Combos and Singles
in reply to a message by LMS

Ada Celeste -- This is pretty nice. Love Ada. Celeste is nice too, but I am not sure I love the combo. Ada Frances is my favorite combo for Ada.
Beatrice Anne -- Very nice, I think I'd prefer Anna in place of Anne.
Catherine Antonia (Cait) -- Very nice.
Audrey Emmeline -- pretty.
Celia Elspeth -- I do not care for either name.
Clara Daphne -- It's pretty good, but I don't particularly like the rhythm.
Dinah Constance -- erm.
Cora Edith -- Adain, not particularly rhythmically pleasing.
Etta Agnes -- see Cora.
Fiona Evelyn -- I do not like Evelyn at all.
Elsa Fleur -- I love Elsa, but Fleur seems a bit filler here. Elsa Magdalene, or something longer would be more balanced.
Greta Heloise -- Not bad.
Iris Honor / Honour -- Not my style.
Honora Jane -- I can't imagine a young child named Honora.
Ida Jillian -- I do not care for the combo.
Ingrid Lenore -- pretty.
Lucy Kate -- pretty.
Lydia Imogen -- I do not like the rhythm (repeated inflection).
Laura Madeleine -- pretty.
Leona Mae -- I do not like Mae.
Lillian Mariah -- It's okay.
Louisa Margot -- love this!
Martha Lydie -- I would like Martha Lydia.
Matilda Hazel -- Nice.
Mary Ophelia -- Nice.
Miriam Primrose -- Primrose is fast becoming my least favorite name. It gets so much play on this board and it is so obnoxious to me. So impractical and prissy.
Mabel Rosalind -- This is okay.
Sylvia Rosamund -- pretty.
Sophia Ruby -- I do not care for Ruby.
Molly Susannah -- pretty.
Sylvie Therese -- Adore this.

I agree on Primrose. It gets so much press, and I've always hated it. It's so fussy, and how would the parents feel if they had to walk into a class full of Sophias, Elizabeths, and Avas and say, "Hi, I'm Primrose."? Probably not very good.

Thats why it works great as a mn...and besides that it isn't much different than naming your child Lily, Rose, Violet, or Iris in my eyes and in today's world, those names are VERY popular.

How about Magnolia?I like that much more than Primrose, but then I'd like just about anything else more than Primrose including Kaylee.

What? You favor the ersatz and insubstantial Kaylee over Primrose?I'm baffled.

I totally abhor Primrose. Yes, I prefer Kaylee to Primrose.

Magnolia is fine, and it even has great nicknames like Nola, Maggie, Nell, and Lia. It isn't mainstream but that doesn't mean it is bad, just as is the case with Primrose.

The child would probably feel fine. It's a legitimate name and it hasn't got bad meaning or anything. Fair enough if it isn't your style.

primroseI never used to like it, but I put it in combos because of this guy:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_PrimroseNow I like it. I think it adds a very fun "impractical and prissy" element to combos, which you might be looking for just to achieve a particular flavor and not to name kids it
