Actually you're wrong. Finlay is not derived from Finn and Finlay is not from a surname - the surname is from the first name. Finlay is the anglicised form of Fionnlagh - which is a first name!Finn is from Fionn.Finnegan is a surname.Thanks

Don't worry - a lot of people think the same, especially in the US as Finlay is a more common as a surname there!
