The name probably would not be usable in France since its not a real French name. Honestly, it reminds me of other trendy made up names such as Lanae, Nevaeh etc. It also reminds me of a surname, a la Marissa Tomei.

My cousin's friend just got a daughter and she wanted to call the child after her brother Tom who died earlier this year. So she actually kind of made it up.

It's sweet that she wants to honor him, but why doesn't she use Thomasine or Thomasina? Apparently even Tamsin is a form of Thomasina, so that's an option also.

EDIT. sorry my mistake. this should have been under the main messageUsable if you live in France or in another francophone country. Otherwise I would not suggest to use it because of the spelling and pronunciation problems.
And my personal feelings about the name are neutral. Neither like it, neither hate it.
