I'm afraid I have to make a bit of a retraction as the etymology I used is for the genus of flowers and is not necesarily for the personal name Elodia or Alodia. So that it's possible the Germanic origin is right, which means "foreign wealth" as Tana said. And the responder's name, which I had gotten wrong, is Anneza.
