In Xhosa it's used as a nickname or form of address for a woman about one's own age and is a form of Sister.

I like Cosima the best of your list. I like Serafina too, but feel Cosima is a better full form for Sisi since there is an si in the name.

I like some cutesy nicknames. I'm a big fan of Sukie for Susan, Susannah, and Susanne, and Minnie for Minerva. I especially like Minnie and feel it would fit right in with all of the Maisie's, Millie's, Maddie's and Mattie's out there. I think the Minnie Mouse connection is the only thing keeping it from getting big. I really like Gigi too, but I'm unsure which full name I would use for it.

I like Sisi a lot. I find that as silly as it may be, it is actually a really natural one that comes off the tongue really easily. I work in childcare and so many kids call me Sisi because that is what they get from Elise. I guess thats why Sisi was used as a lesser nn for Elisabeth as well.

I don't really like Sisi/Cici because it reminds me of the pizza place. Which is like eating at a glorified cafeteria. I do like Thomasina, Alisandra, Serafina, Melisande, and Alfonsine.

I don't really have a thing for the repetitive syllable cutesy nicknames, although I don't really mind Gigi. I do like that kind of stuff for little boys, like JoeJoe or TomTom (hehe... reminds me of TumTum in The 3 Ninjas). I call my son BenBen a lot. I do kind of have a thing for riduclously cute double name nicknames like Ellie Mae or Maggie Sue or Molly Kate.

We use Sissie a lot at our house; it's a common Texas nn for any sister (as Bubba is for brother). The form most often used is Sissie-belle. (I like this -ie spelling to distinguish it from one who is a sissy, in the sense of the mild insult). And I like to use Fifi on Sophie (with Sophia Ophelia Seraphina, imo it's legit), though no one else does. I also like Bibi for Vivian/Bibiana, and ZiZi is my preferred nn for my combo Zoe Zenobia.

I could like Sisi if it was a short form of Cecile*, Cecilia or Cecily, but couldn't really see myself using any of the other names, except maybe Cosima (middle name only), but even then, probably not, due to the Liszt-Wagner association, two composers who I prefer to avoid.

I like Aloisia, Cosima, Alisandra, Serafina, and Melisande. would use different nns though; I'm not really into cutesy-type nns at the moment.
Ths reminds me that I wanted to nicname a character KEER-kee at one point, but didn't have any idea how I should spell it. I didn't want it to look like Circe because then people would pronounce it that way, but nothing else I came up with looked right.
