Dorothy is cute! I live in Kansas, so a Dorothy here would get battered with Wizard of Oz comments. I think Dot/Dotty and Dolly are adorable for nicknames.
I know a lady named Dorothy. She is probably about 23, and quite lovely, smart, well-spoken, and vivacious.
This name gets two thumbs up for me.
