You think: Antoinette is beautiful, but Antoinetta is a little bit too elaborate for me. Nedda isn't bad, but sounds a little old for a girl. Netta or Nettie would be my preference.

A clown, although the association has since faded...
I doubt that, clown was the first thing that popped in my head, I'm pretty sure a lot of people still connect Pierrot to the sad clown.
